Hello,

My name is Tracy Harris

I qualified as a registered Psychotherapist/Counsellor through The Counselling Foundation, in St Albans, Hertfordshire, and I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). I have also worked with the Samaritans for over 4 years prior to becoming a Psychodynamic therapist.

I have an Open University degree in Combined Social Sciences (Psychology and Sociology), following which I studied at The Counselling Foundation for a Foundation and Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling.

I have experience in dealing with loss, relationship difficulties, bereavement, gender & sexuality. I apply a Psychodynamic approach to therapy which is specifically tailored to the individual’s needs.

I offer a complimentary first session which allows us to understand what you are looking for which can be simply arranged by clicking this link.

Why Seek Therapy?

Deciding to seek therapy can be a big step and perhaps a decision you have been thinking about for a while. Here are some reasons why it might be the right time for you:

  • You find yourself ruminating on past events

  • You find it hard to talk to those closest to you despite wishing you could

  • Your feelings of emptiness and grief are consuming you

  • You feel anxious and/or low in mood most of the time

  • You feel angry and stressed

  • You feel confused in yourself and your feelings

  • You are at a stage where you know something has to change

What is Psychodynamic Therapy?

Psychodynamic therapy (also known as psychodynamic counselling) is a therapeutic approach. Psychoanalytical and Psychodynamic therapies work on the idea that each individual’s unconscious thoughts and perceptions are developed throughout their childhood. These unconscious thoughts affect their current behaviours and thought processes.

Psychodynamic therapy helps you to recognise, experience, and understand your true, deep-rooted feelings, in order to help you resolve them.
